Wedding FAQs

How do I secure a wedding reception date?
In order to secure space, The Hilton Garden Inn & Manhattan Conference Center needs a signed contract, credit-card guarantee form and nonrefundable deposit of $500 from the couple.

What are the service charge and sales tax amounts?
A service charge of 20% applies and is taxable, based on Kansas State Regulation. The current sales tax is 8.9%.

When should we discuss our menu selections?
Your Catering Sales Manager suggests finalizing menus no later than 1 month prior to your event. Complimentary tastings are provided for up to four guests up 3 months prior to your event.

Does the hotel have a cake-cutting fee?
A $2.00 per person cake-cutting fee is assessed.

Does the hotel provide punch service?
A 3.95 per person fee is assessed if we provide the punch. You may bring in your own punch at a discounted rate of $1.50 per person for us to facilitate. If you chose to facilitate on your own the fee will be waived. We do provide free of charge the punch bowl, ladle, and glassware.

When should we notify the hotel of our guaranteed guest attendance?
The couple should communicate final attendance numbers by noon, 7 business days prior to the function. A final guarantee is due by noon, 72 hours prior to the function.

What kind of linens does the hotel provide?
The hotel provides fine ivory or black linens. Specialty linens may also be arranged at an additional cost.

What does hotel provide?
In order to ease the stress of wedding planning, The Hilton Garden Inn & Manhattan Conference Center provides full service, including food and beverage, servers, bartenders, tables, chairs, ivory or black linens, votive candles, china, silverware, glassware, toasting flutes, cake knife and server sets, dance floors, staging and set-up and tear-down of your event (not to include setup & tear-down of your decorations except for ones we provide). The hotel is also pleased to provide standard 16in tall cylinder centerpieces that include one votive candle. Additional decorations are available to rent.

Can I use outside vendors?
Your Catering Sales Manager is happy to share a list of recommended vendors, such as wedding coordinators, florists, entertainment providers (band/DJ), photographers, videographers, lighting and specialty linens companies.

Does the hotel allow outside food and beverage vendors?
As regulated by the Kansas Department of Health and the Kansas Alcohol and Beverage Commission, The Hilton Garden Inn & Manhattan Conference Center must supply all food and liquor.

Does the hotel offer special room rates for our guests?
Your Catering Sales Manager assists couples with guestrooms or courtesy rates for your out-of-town guests. The Bride and Groom will also receive a discounted suite on the night of your wedding.
